Hand-Painted Miniature Art Jewelry & Gifts from the California Sierra Foothills

Every piece on the Moni Originals™ website is individually handcrafted in the beautiful California Sierra foothills. Using a distinctive layered painting technique set in resin, Moni transforms tiny surfaces into miniature works of three-dimensional art, where color, depth, and detail come together to bring each design to life.

She has been creating her artwork for more than two decades, beginning in 2002 with hand-painted Italian Charms. What started as tiny wearable paintings quickly grew into a diverse collection of handcrafted designs. Today, Moni Originals includes hand-painted pendants, Moni Buttons™ stud earrings, ear gauges, large barrettes, bookmarks, letter openers, wine stoppers, and other miniature works of functional art, each created using the same careful layered painting method. 

From delicate florals and hummingbirds to butterflies, bees, apples, and Sierra-inspired landscapes, many designs are influenced by the natural beauty of the Sierra foothills and nearby Lake Tahoe region. Every piece is painted by hand with patience and attention to detail, with layers of color building gradually to create richness, texture, and life that flat artwork simply cannot achieve.

Because every item is individually hand-painted, no two pieces are ever exactly alike. Each creation is a small, wearable painting - true to the Moni Originals motto: "The Art is in the Details".
